يَاسِرٌ: نَعَمْ، أَقْصِدُ صُوَرًا أَخْتَارُهَا مِنْ أَعْمَالِي. لَمْ أَقْصِدْ تَغْيِيرَ مَا تُعَلِّمُونَهُ فِي الْوَرَشِ، بَلْ مَوْضِعًا يَرَاهُ الزُّوَّارُ وَيَعْرِفُونَ مِنْهُ مَنْ دَعَمَ الْمَوَادَّ.

مَهَا: شُكْرِي الشَّخْصِيُّ لَكَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا كُلِّفْتُ بِنَقْلِهِ. تُرِيدُ الْمَجْمُوعَةُ مَعْرِفَةَ مَا سَيَتَغَيَّرُ مُقَابِلَ الْمَوَادِّ. لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَضَعَ كَلِمَةَ شُكْرٍ مَكَانَ جَوَابِهَا عَنِ الْجِدَارِ وَالْمُلْصَقَاتِ.
يَاسِرٌ: إِذَنْ أَسْحَبُ شَرْطَ الْجِدَارِ؛ يَبْقَى كُلُّهُ لِأَعْمَالِ الْمُشَارِكِينَ. لَكِنَّنِي أُبْقِي شَرْطَ الشِّعَارِ عَلَى كُلِّ مُلْصَقٍ لِلْوَرَشِ. وَبِالْبُرُوزِ أَعْنِي أَنْ يَكُونَ بِحَجْمِ اسْمِ الْوَرْشَةِ فِي أَعْلَى الْمُلْصَقِ، لَا شُكْرًا صَغِيرًا فِي أَسْفَلِهِ.
هُدَى: هَذَا تَعْدِيلٌ مُحَدَّدٌ فِي الْعَرْضِ. لَا يَعْنِي انْتِهَاءُ شَرْطِ الْجِدَارِ أَنَّ الشَّرْطَ الثَّانِيَ صَارَ مَقْبُولًا لَدَيْنَا. سَنَنْظُرُ فِي الْمُلْصَقَاتِ عَلَى حِدَةٍ، وَنَحْتَاجُ إِلَى أَنْ يَظْهَرَ فِي الْمَحْضَرِ مَا سَحَبْتَهُ وَمَا أَبْقَيْتَهُ.

يَاسِرٌ: كُنْتُ أَفْهَمُ شُكْرَكُمْ عَلَى أَنَّهُ اقْتِرَابٌ مِنَ الْقَبُولِ، وَالْآنَ أَرَى أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ جَوَابًا عَنِ الشُّرُوطِ. لَكِنْ هَلْ يَعْنِي رَفْضُ هَذَا الْحَجْمِ أَنَّكُمْ تُفَضِّلُونَ عَدَمَ تَلَقِّي أَيِّ دَعْمٍ؟ أُرِيدُ مَعْرِفَةَ مَا تَتْرُكُونَهُ مَفْتُوحًا لِلنِّقَاشِ.

سُهَيْلٌ: أَسْتَطِيعُ رَسْمَ نَمُوذَجٍ يَضَعُ اسْمَ الْوَرْشَةِ فِي الْأَعْلَى، وَشِعَارَ الدَّاعِمِ أَسْفَلَهُ مَعَ بَيَانٍ مَقْرُوءٍ عَنِ تَوْفِيرِ الْمَوَادِّ. الْهَدَفُ أَنْ يَعْرِفَ الزَّائِرُ نَوْعَ الْمُسَاهَمَةِ.

Yasir — donor: I offer to provide drawing materials for the art room in our imagined four-week season. The offer has two conditions: my logo prominent at the top of every workshop poster, and a wall reserved for my display throughout the season.
Huda — director: We appreciate your willingness to provide materials, but have not accepted the offer or received anything. I want to clarify reservation. Do you mean that we leave the wall for what you choose, without replacing it weekly with participants’ work?
Suhayl — employee: There is one wall available for participants’ work; the other spaces hold shelves and instructions. We planned to change the work every week. Reserving it for four weeks means drawing materials will increase but the place to display their results will disappear.
Maha — community representative: The drawing group authorised me to convey two views: opposition to reserving the wall, and a wish for the workshop’s name to remain more prominent than the supporter’s logo. It did not authorise me to accept new conditions, and I do not speak for everyone who uses the room outside this group.
Yasir — donor: Yes, I mean pictures I choose from my own work. I did not mean to change what you teach in the workshops, but to have a place visitors see and learn from who supported the materials.
Huda — director: I understand the recognition you intend. But the condition gives you the choice of what appears on the wall throughout the season. Not requesting a changed lesson does not mean the room’s use will remain as we planned.
Suhayl — employee: For my work, more materials do not mean more display opportunities. I was going to put up each week’s work so participants could discuss it. If the wall stays with your pictures, we are not merely adding something; we also give up part of the workshop.
Maha — community representative: My personal thanks do not change what I was asked to convey. The group wants to know what will change in return for the materials. I cannot put a word of thanks in place of its answer about the wall and posters.
Yasir — donor: Then I withdraw the wall condition; all of it remains for participants’ work. But I retain the logo condition on every workshop poster. By prominence I mean that it is the size of the workshop’s name at the top of the poster, not a small acknowledgement at the bottom.
Huda — director: That is a specific revision to the offer. Removing the wall condition does not mean the second condition has become acceptable to us. We will consider the posters separately, and the minutes need to show what you withdrew and what you retained.
Suhayl — employee: The spatial obstacle to the display plan is gone, but the poster question is different. Seeing the logo as large as the workshop’s name, a visitor may understand the programme to be the supporter’s choice. I do not say this reading is inevitable, but that it needs examination.
Maha — community representative: The clarification of size matters to the group: the view I conveyed makes the workshop’s name more prominent. I cannot announce its satisfaction because you withdrew another condition. I will convey the revised offer, and its response remains unknown until it gives it.
Yasir — donor: I understood your thanks as movement towards acceptance, and now see that they are not an answer to the conditions. But does rejecting this size mean you prefer to receive no support at all? I want to know what you are leaving open for discussion.
Huda — director: We leave the way your contribution is recognised open, not the workshop’s purpose itself. Rejecting a conditional arrangement is not the same as rejecting materials or questioning your intention. Disagreement may remain even when each of us knows what matters to the other.
Suhayl — employee: I can draw a mock-up putting the workshop’s name at the top and the supporter’s logo beneath it with a readable statement about providing materials. The aim is for the visitor to know the contribution’s nature.
Maha — community representative: I propose showing both mock-ups to the group so it can see the difference, rather than choosing in its absence. This is my proposal to obtain a more precise response, not its approval of the second mock-up. Even the statement about materials must distinguish an offer from something accomplished.
Yasir — donor: I accept seeing the other mock-up, but am not withdrawing my condition now. I want my name to be clear at the first moment of reading, rather than after searching for it. The mock-up may be readable and still not meet what I am asking for.
Huda — director: Then we will not call your agreement to see it an agreement on it. We will place the two designs for comparison, while your condition stands unless you explicitly change it. We will not order materials or print posters on the basis of optimism about the outcome.
Suhayl — employee: The mock-ups will be internal and marked for review. This is so they do not suggest that the season has begun with accepted support. The comparison concerns the name and logo’s placement and the meaning of the statement beneath them.
Maha — community representative: I will ask the group for a response about prominence and the statement’s wording, conveying disagreement if there is any. I do not promise a unified response. I will explain that the supporter’s pictures will not reserve the wall, so it discusses posters on the basis of the new offer.
Yasir — donor: I need an answer before noon on Friday to arrange what I will provide. I do not treat no reply as acceptance, but I do not leave the offer open without a deadline. If you need more time, ask explicitly and I will respond to the request.
Huda — director: I will reply before that deadline with acceptance, rejection or an extension request, and will not call the request your agreement to it. We need the views before my decision, and I cannot now guarantee that they will arrive at a convenient time for us.
Suhayl — employee: In the workshop plan I will not yet write that materials are available. I will keep the wall for participants in the draft, marking the materials’ source as unresolved. Withdrawing a condition about a space does not in itself provide the materials.
Maha — community representative: I will bring you what the group says, not an answer I infer from our need for materials. If its response has not arrived, I will say so. Our need for a decision before Friday noon does not give me an authority it did not grant.
Yasir — donor: Let us record that the current offer provides materials subject to the logo condition as I clarified it, without reserving the wall. My viewing the alternative design does not automatically change the condition. I prefer a clear answer, even a refusal, to announcing a donation we have not agreed.
Huda — director: We will record your withdrawal of the wall condition, not our acceptance of the revised offer.
