Sami: I found a train ticket for 180 riyals per person and a flexible one for 240. I lean towards the cheaper one.
Mazin: The difference for two people is 120 riyals, but our exhibition visit is not confirmed yet.
Sami: True, but the organiser said Thursday was likely. Are we paying too much extra for an unlikely possibility?
Mazin: Saying Thursday is likely does not make a change unlikely. The hall’s opening time has not been set yet.
Sami: Then let us read the terms. The basic ticket permits changes for 40 riyals, plus any fare difference.
Mazin: Is the fee per booking or per ticket? That detail changes the comparison.
Sami: For each ticket, each time. The flexible ticket has no change fee, but the fare difference still has to be paid.
Mazin: That means flexibility does not guarantee travel without an extra cost if we choose a more expensive train.
Sami: Exactly. One change to both basic tickets is cheaper than the initial premium, if the fare difference is the same.
Mazin: I agree, but if we change the date twice, the fees will exceed that premium. We do not know that in advance.
Sami: What about cancellation? I had assumed the flexible ticket allowed a full refund if we cancelled the trip.
Mazin: The terms here say neither ticket is refundable. Flexibility concerns changes and does not cover cancellation.
Sami: Then the ticket’s name is not enough to assess its value. Can it be changed after the train’s departure time?
Mazin: No. Either must be changed at least two hours before departure, subject to seats being available on the alternative train.
Sami: Since confirmation may arrive tomorrow, I suggest waiting until noon before buying either ticket.
Mazin: Waiting is reasonable, but the current price is not guaranteed. We may pay more even if the date is confirmed.
Sami: I accept that possibility. If final confirmation arrives tomorrow, we will compare prices again and choose basic if it is still cheaper.
Mazin: If the date remains unclear, I prefer flexible, provided its premium is no more than 120 for the two of us.
Sami: I accept that condition. If the difference increases, we will discuss it again rather than automatically buying at any price.
Mazin: I will ask the organiser today when confirmation is expected and explain that booking the train depends on his answer.
Sami: I will save the terms for comparison, noting that prices and seat availability may change before purchase.
Mazin: Agreed. Tomorrow we will decide using the available information, without assuming that more expensive always means better.
