The teacher asked Nabil, Huda and Amir to prepare a project about their neighbourhood. They had to hand in a display board on Thursday. They met in the library and divided the work: Nabil would write the sentences, Huda would draw the map and Amir would collect photographs of buildings. They wrote their names and tasks on a small sheet of paper.
On Wednesday evening, Nabil brought the sentences, and Amir brought photographs of the school, library and bakery. Huda, however, was worried. She said, “I drew a very large map. There is no space left on the board for the sentences and photographs.” They looked at the map and found that it needed to be drawn again.
Nabil said, “We will help you. We have time this evening.” Huda took a smaller sheet of paper and started drawing again. Nabil wrote the street names on the map, and Amir cut out the photographs to fit the remaining space. Then they put the map in the middle of the board and arranged the sentences and photographs around it before sticking them down.
The work was finished at seven o’clock. Nabil read the sentences aloud, Huda checked the street names, and Amir made sure all the photographs were there. Huda said, “Thank you both. The board looks tidy now.” On Thursday morning, they handed in the project on time. They stood in front of the class, and each of them explained one part of it.
