On Wednesday, the teacher told the students that the Arabic test would be on Saturday. Bilal returned home and wrote a revision plan. He set aside an hour every evening: twenty minutes for vocabulary, twenty for reading and twenty for writing. He put the plan beside his book and started studying.

On the first evening, Bilal found that he remembered most of the words. He read the text and understood its meaning, but he had difficulty arranging words to write sentences. He said to himself, “I need more time for this exercise.” He underlined the difficult exercises and opened his notebook.

Bilal changed his plan. He made vocabulary revision ten minutes, kept reading at twenty minutes and set aside half an hour for writing. His total study time therefore stayed at one hour. He read an example: “My brother goes to school.” Then he covered the example and wrote a new sentence about his sister. After that, he compared his sentence with the example and corrected a small mistake.

The next day, Bilal wrote three more sentences and showed them to his classmate. His classmate said, “These sentences are clear. Shall we revise together?” They practised new exercises, then Bilal reviewed his mistakes. On the day of the test, he answered most of the questions calmly. He kept his plan so he could adjust it when needed.
