Mariam: I used an AI tool to explain yesterday’s lesson. It gave me a simpler example than the textbook’s.

Samir: That may help, but a clear answer is not proof of accuracy. Did you check the example?

Mariam: I compared it with the textbook rule, and it matched. I do not mean I trust everything the tool writes.

Samir: I found a generalisation in an earlier answer that contradicted our teacher’s explanation. Its confident tone almost convinced me.

Mariam: Caution is reasonable. But rejecting the tool entirely denies me an alternative explanation when the teacher is unavailable.

Samir: I am not calling for a ban. I worry about moving from seeking help to copying solutions before trying.

Mariam: That distinction matters. I can request one hint instead of a complete solution, then finish the exercise myself.

Samir: What if the hint is wrong? Checking it may take a long time.

Mariam: That is why I start with lesson notes. If the explanations differ, I ask the teacher rather than simply choosing the easier answer.

Samir: I like the order. But how do we distinguish understanding from familiarity after reading an explanation?

Mariam: We close the tool, explain in our own words, then solve a new example. That is stronger evidence than simply agreeing.

Samir: I tried yesterday but could not explain step two. I was following the solution without understanding the reason for that step.

Mariam: That reveals the difficulty. You can ask the teacher about that step rather than requesting the entire lesson again.

Samir: What about the assignment we will submit? I do not want to present generated text as my own work.

Mariam: This assignment allows requests for clarification if we acknowledge the help, but forbids submitting a generated answer.

Samir: Then we follow those boundaries. Another assignment’s instructions may differ; permission should not be assumed to apply everywhere.

Mariam: I will record what I asked the tool, then write my answer myself. If instructions are unclear, we will seek clarification.

Samir: I prefer trying for ten minutes first. That gives us time to think before requesting any hint.

Mariam: I agree, because the goal is learning, not just finishing quickly. We can compare our attempts afterward.

Samir: Let us try this for a week and see whether we can solve similar exercises without help.

Mariam: If we cannot, we reconsider how we use it. The tool helps with some tasks, but cannot do our learning for us.

Samir: Agreed: independent effort, then limited help and checking. We judge the benefit by its effect on our understanding.
