اَلْعَوْدَةُ إِلَى الرَّسْمِ بَعْدَ اِنْقِطَاعٍ
عَادِلٌ: رَأَيْتُ لَوْحَتَكَ الْقَدِيمَةَ فِي الْغُرْفَةِ. هَلْ مَا زِلْتَ تَرْسُمُ فِي وَقْتِ فَرَاغِكَ؟
سَامِي: تَوَقَّفْتُ مُنْذُ سَنَتَيْنِ، لَكِنَّنِي أَشْتَاقُ إِلَى الرَّسْمِ كُلَّمَا فَتَحْتُ صُنْدُوقَ الْأَلْوَانِ.
عَادِلٌ: مَا الَّذِي يَمْنَعُكَ مِنَ الْعَوْدَةِ؟ أَلَا تَزَالُ أَدَوَاتُكَ الْقَدِيمَةُ مَوْجُودَةً عِنْدَكَ؟
سَامِي: نَعَمْ، لَكِنَّ وَقْتِي مَحْدُودٌ، وَأَخَافُ أَنْ أَبْدَأَ لَوْحَةً كَبِيرَةً ثُمَّ أَتْرُكَهَا نَاقِصَةً.
عَادِلٌ: لَا تَحْتَاجُ إِلَى لَوْحَةٍ كَبِيرَةٍ. يُمْكِنُكَ أَنْ تَرْسُمَ كُوبًا وَاحِدًا عَلَى وَرَقَةٍ صَغِيرَةٍ.
سَامِي: هَذَا أَسْهَلُ، وَلَكِنَّ أَلْوَانِي قَدِيمَةٌ. هَلْ أَشْتَرِي مَجْمُوعَةً جَدِيدَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ أَبْدَأَ؟
عَادِلٌ: جَرِّبِ الْأَلْوَانَ الْمَوْجُودَةَ أَوَّلًا. رُبَّمَا تَكْفِي لِلتَّجْرِبَةِ، فَلَا تَشْتَرِي أَشْيَاءَ لَا تَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهَا.
سَامِي: أَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ أَرْسُمَ نِصْفَ سَاعَةٍ صَبَاحَ السَّبْتِ، قَبْلَ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ لِزِيَارَةِ أَهْلِي.
عَادِلٌ: هَذَا وَقْتٌ مُنَاسِبٌ لِبِدَايَةٍ بَسِيطَةٍ. أَيْنَ سَتَضَعُ أَدَوَاتَكَ حَتَّى تَجِدَهَا بِسُهُولَةٍ؟
سَامِي: سَأُجَهِّزُ الطَّاوِلَةَ مَسَاءَ الْجُمُعَةِ. بِهَذِهِ الطَّرِيقَةِ لَنْ أُضَيِّعَ وَقْتَ الرَّسْمِ فِي الْبَحْثِ عَنْهَا.
عَادِلٌ: وَهَلْ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَنْشُرَ اللَّوْحَةَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ، أَمْ تَحْتَفِظَ بِهَا لِنَفْسِكَ فَقَطْ؟
سَامِي: سَأَحْتَفِظُ بِهَا لِنَفْسِي، لِأَنَّنِي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَسْتَمْتِعَ بِالرَّسْمِ دُونَ الْقَلَقِ مِنْ آرَاءِ الْآخَرِينَ.
عَادِلٌ: فِكْرَةٌ جَيِّدَةٌ. وَلَيْسَ ضَرُورِيًّا أَنْ تَكُونَ النَّتِيجَةُ مِثْلَ أَفْضَلِ لَوْحَةٍ رَسَمْتَهَا قَدِيمًا.
سَامِي: هَذَا مَا كُنْتُ أَنْسَاهُ. كُنْتُ أُقَارِنُ كُلَّ مُحَاوَلَةٍ جَدِيدَةٍ بِأَفْضَلِ أَعْمَالِي الْقَدِيمَةِ.
عَادِلٌ: إِذَنْ، جَرِّبْ جَلْسَةً وَاحِدَةً، ثُمَّ قَرِّرْ هَلْ تُرِيدُ تَكْرَارَهَا فِي السَّبْتِ التَّالِي.
سَامِي: وَمَاذَا لَوْ اِنْتَهَى نِصْفُ السَّاعَةِ وَأَنَا لَمْ أُكْمِلِ اللَّوْحَةَ الصَّغِيرَةَ بَعْدُ؟
عَادِلٌ: اِحْتَفِظْ بِهَا كَمَا هِيَ. الْهَدَفُ هُوَ الْعَوْدَةُ إِلَى الرَّسْمِ، لَا إِنْجَازُ عَمَلٍ كَامِلٍ.
سَامِي: إِذَنْ سَأَبْدَأُ بِالْكُوبِ الْأَزْرَقِ، وَسَأَسْتَخْدِمُ الْأَلْوَانَ الَّتِي عِنْدِي قَبْلَ شِرَاءِ غَيْرِهَا.
عَادِلٌ: هَلْ تُرِيدُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ عَنِ التَّجْرِبَةِ بَعْدَ السَّبْتِ، أَمْ تُفَضِّلُ أَنْ أَنْتَظِرَ؟
سَامِي: اِسْأَلْنِي عَنْ شُعُورِي أَثْنَاءَ الرَّسْمِ، لَا عَنْ جَوْدَةِ اللَّوْحَةِ. هَذَا يُشَجِّعُنِي أَكْثَرَ.

Adil: I saw your old painting in the room. Do you still paint in your free time?
Sami: I stopped two years ago, but I miss painting whenever I open my box of paints.
Adil: What is stopping you from starting again? Do you still have your old materials?
Sami: Yes, but my time is limited, and I am afraid of starting a large painting and leaving it unfinished.
Adil: You do not need a large painting. You can paint a single cup on a small sheet of paper.
Sami: That is easier, but my paints are old. Should I buy a new set before I start?
Adil: Try the paints you have first. They may be enough for the experiment, so you will not buy things you do not need.
Sami: I can paint for half an hour on Saturday morning, before I go out to visit my family.
Adil: That is a suitable amount of time for a simple start. Where will you put your materials so you can find them easily?
Sami: I will prepare the table on Friday evening. That way I will not waste my painting time looking for them.
Adil: Do you want to share the painting afterwards, or keep it just for yourself?
Sami: I will keep it for myself because I want to enjoy painting without worrying about other people’s opinions.
Adil: Good idea. The result does not need to be like the best painting you made in the past.
Sami: That is what I was forgetting. I used to compare every new attempt with my best old work.
Adil: Then try one session, and afterwards decide whether you want to repeat it the following Saturday.
Sami: And what if the half hour ends and I have not finished the small painting yet?
Adil: Keep it as it is. The aim is to return to painting, not to complete a whole piece.
Sami: Then I will start with the blue cup and use the paints I have before buying others.
Adil: Would you like me to ask about the experiment after Saturday, or would you prefer me to wait?
Sami: Ask me how I felt while painting, not about the quality of the painting. That encourages me more.
