Huda: We have not met since you left the company. How are you finding your new job after three months?
Yusuf: I am starting to get used to it now, but the first weeks were harder than I expected.
Huda: You were comfortable with our team. What prompted you to look for another job?
Yusuf: I liked the team, but I was repeating the same tasks every day and wanted to learn new skills.
Huda: Did you look for a chance to change your tasks within the company before leaving?
Yusuf: Yes, I spoke with the manager, but there was no suitable assignment for me at that time.
Huda: So your decision was not a quick one. What exactly appealed to you about the new position?
Yusuf: I chose it because it combines organising projects with communicating with clients, two areas in which I want to develop.
Huda: Have you actually found an opportunity to learn, or was the description better than the reality?
Yusuf: I have, but I needed time to understand the system. I wrote notes after each meeting to review them.
Huda: Was someone helping you, or were you trying to understand everything on your own?
Yusuf: A colleague helped me and taught me to ask for clarification early instead of wasting time guessing.
Huda: That is useful. Has everything become better since the change, or are there aspects you miss?
Yusuf: I miss my old colleagues, and my journey to the office is longer now. So I leave home earlier.
Huda: Despite these difficulties, do you still think the change was right for you?
Yusuf: Yes, because I am learning every week, but I do not think the same choice suits everyone.
Huda: I understand what you mean. At present I prefer a job close to home, even if it is less varied.
Yusuf: Everyone has their own priorities. I will review my experience after another three months to see what I have learned.
Huda: What do you wish you had known before starting the new job?
Yusuf: That needing help at the beginning is normal and is not evidence that my decision was wrong.
