Imad: Faris, I heard you are moving to another city next month and leaving the course. Is that true?
Faris: No, I will visit my brother there for one week, then return. It is a temporary visit, not a move to live there.
Imad: That is strange. A classmate told me you were looking for a flat there. Where did that come from?
Faris: I looked for flats for my brother at his request. I was only helping him compare the listings.
Imad: So you have not rented a flat for yourself or decided to live in that city?
Faris: Correct. I have not rented any flat, and I have not decided to move. That is an incorrect inference.
Imad: But I saw you carrying two boxes yesterday. I thought you had started gathering your belongings to move.
Faris: They contain books for my brother. I am gathering them to take on the visit, not to leave my home.
Imad: Now I understand. I connected the flat search with the boxes, then imagined a plan you had not mentioned.
Faris: I am glad you asked me. Seeing part of the story is not enough to know my plan.
Imad: What confirmed information can I give someone who asks about your absence?
Faris: I will be away for a week to visit my brother next month, and I will continue the course after returning.
Imad: Have you spoken to the teacher about the lessons you will miss during that week?
Faris: Yes, I agreed with him to obtain the study materials. I did not tell him I would leave the course.
Imad: Sorry; I repeated the news to two classmates before asking you. I will correct what I told them.
Faris: Thank you. It is better to distinguish what we know from what we suppose before passing news on.
Imad: I will tell them I misunderstood the situation and that you are only planning a short visit.
Faris: That is correct. They can ask me directly if they want to know other details.
Imad: If your plan changes in the future, how can we know without guessing?
Faris: I will tell my classmates myself if anything changes. For now, my plan is a short visit and then a return.
