لَيْلَى: وَفِي أَوْرَاقِ التَّجْرِبَةِ طَلَبْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ أَيْضًا تَرْتِيبَ مَكَاتِبِهِمْ وَإِبْعَادَ هَوَاتِفِهِمْ. لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ نِسْبَةَ التَّغَيُّرِ إِلَى الْمِصْبَاحِ وَحْدَهُ، مَا دَامَتْ ظُرُوفُ الْعَمَلِ قَدْ تَغَيَّرَتْ مَعَهُ.
بَاسِمٌ: إِذَنْ فَالْمُشْكِلَةُ لَيْسَتْ فِي نَقْلِ الرَّقْمِ فَقَطْ، بَلْ فِي مَا يُوحِي بِهِ. الْمُشَاهِدُ قَدْ يَفْهَمُ وَعْدًا بِنَتِيجَةٍ لَمْ تُثْبِتْهَا هَذِهِ التَّجْرِبَةُ الصَّغِيرَةُ بِهَذِهِ الطَّرِيقَةِ.

لَيْلَى: الثِّقَةُ لَا تَعْنِي أَنْ يَجْهَلَ الْجُمْهُورُ مَنْ يَدْفَعُ. إِذَا اكْتَشَفَ الْمُشَاهِدُ الْعَلَاقَةَ بَعْدَ الشِّرَاءِ، فَقَدْ يُشَكِّكُ حَتَّى فِي الْمَلْحُوظَاتِ الصَّادِقَةِ الَّتِي ذَكَرْتُهَا عَنْ تَجْرِبَتِي.

Layla: Before filming the desk-lamp advertisement, I want to settle the limits of my role. I agreed to present my experience, not to read a script expressing the company’s opinion in my voice.
Mazin: We are paying production costs and your fee, and we need a clear message. The draft says the lamp increases concentration by thirty percent, a phrase our team found persuasive.
Basim: As the representative of a group of followers, I would ask about evidence before the phrase’s appeal. Does the percentage mean an improvement in measured performance, or participants feeling more focused?
Mazin: Twelve volunteers tried the lamp for a week, and rated their concentration in a questionnaire before and after the trial. Their average rating increased by that percentage, but we did not compare them with a group using another lamp.
Layla: Your trial notes also asked them to organise their desks and put their phones away. I cannot attribute the change to the lamp alone when working conditions changed alongside it.
Basim: So the problem is not just reporting the number, but what it implies. Viewers may understand it as a promise of a result that this small trial, conducted this way, has not established.
Mazin: I understand the reservation, but should we remove every reference to users’ opinions? I worry the video will become a list of specifications viewers could read on the product’s box.
Layla: I can describe what I personally noticed: directing the light is easy, but the lamp’s base takes up space on my small desk. That specific experience helps someone whose circumstances resemble mine.
Basim: That raises the question of independence. If the advertiser pays to highlight benefits, can it remove an observation that might make some viewers postpone a purchase?
Mazin: The current contract gives us approval over the final version, and we intended that to prevent specification errors. I admit the wording is broader than that purpose and permits another interpretation.

Basim: Even if the opinion remains independent, viewers need to know the relationship from the start. A thank-you to the company does not by itself explain that it paid for the video’s production.
Mazin: I preferred “in collaboration with the company” because it suits the channel’s style. Do you think the audience would not understand that this work involves financial payment?
Layla: Some might understand it, but clarity should not depend on guessing. I will say this is a paid advertisement and that the company gave me the lamp and a fee to produce the video.
Basim: Let that information appear in writing as it is spoken, before the recommendation. Some members of our group watch videos without sound and may never open the accompanying description.
Mazin: I worry that introduction will make every subsequent word suspect. We chose this channel because its followers trust its creator, and we want to benefit from that trust.
Layla: Trust does not mean the audience is unaware of who pays. If a viewer discovers the relationship after buying, they may question even the honest observations I made about my experience.
Basim: I would rather weigh your words knowing their circumstances. Disclosure does not prove a claim true, just as payment does not automatically make it false; it is information for understanding the context.
Mazin: Then we remove the concentration percentage and explain the payment. But my team proposed a channel-specific discount code and a commission for you on each order using it. Does that change the disclosure wording?
Layla: Certainly, because the production fee is fixed whereas commission increases with sales. However, I would prefer to decline commission for this campaign so my income is not linked to the purchase decision.
Basim: That reduces a particular incentive without removing the original commercial relationship. Viewers will still need to know the video is funded, even if you receive nothing extra.
Mazin: We can keep the discount without commission. I will send the base dimensions and measurement photos for checking and request that our review be limited to factual errors, not changing personal opinions.
Layla: I also want to clarify what happens if an error emerges after publication. Quietly changing the description is insufficient if the video itself contains information that affects the choice.
Basim: We can show the version to five members before publishing it and ask what they understood. That can reveal possible ambiguity, but it is not our endorsement of the lamp’s quality.
Mazin: The trial showing is useful, but changing the contract needs internal approval I do not currently have. We planned to publish tomorrow and may miss the campaign date if we wait.
Layla: Then we will postpone filming. I will not record a recommendation before securing my right to state the limits of the experience and correct errors. Losing a date is easier for me than publishing words I cannot stand behind.
Basim: I will tell the group that the review concerns clarity of the message and that publication is not yet settled. That way we do not replace a claim about the product with another claim about audience approval of it.
