Sami: My work time has changed, and from next week I will start at eight instead of nine.

Rami: Will you keep taking the bus, or will you cycle to avoid waiting in the morning?

Sami: I am not sure. The bus used to suit me, but I have not checked the new timetable yet.

Rami: The seven-ten bus reaches the office stop at seven fifty.

Sami: That leaves only ten minutes before the start. I am worried I might be late if the road is congested.

Rami: You could take the bus before it, but you would leave home half an hour earlier.

Sami: The bicycle journey takes twenty-five minutes. I tried the route at the weekend.

Rami: Then it is faster than the bus, but is there a suitable cycle route the whole way?

Sami: Yes, and there is somewhere to store bicycles at the office. The problem is the large bag I sometimes carry.

Rami: Do not carry anything that affects your balance. You could use the bus on days when you have the large bag.

Sami: I usually carry it on Monday because I bring materials for the team meeting. I do not need it for the rest of the week.

Rami: And consider the weather too. The bus is more comfortable for me when the rain is heavy or the wind is strong.

Sami: I agree with you. I do not want to arrive wet or cycle in difficult conditions.

Rami: Do you have to choose one form of transport all the time? You can change your plan depending on the day’s circumstances.

Sami: True. If the weather is suitable and my bag is light, I will cycle and allow extra time.

Rami: And what will you do next Monday, your first day on the new schedule?

Sami: I will take the earlier bus because my bag is heavy, and read something if I arrive early.

Rami: A suitable plan. Then compare the journey time and how tired you feel during the first week.

Sami: I will note my observations; the fastest option is not always the most suitable, especially on a long workday.

Rami: Exactly. Choose what helps you arrive comfortably and on time, while taking safety into account.
