Salma missed two days of class because she was ill. After lessons, Mariam sent her a message: “How are you today? Would a short visit suit you?” Salma answered, “I feel better, and I would be happy to see you, but I get tired quickly.” They agreed on a short visit at five.
Mariam gathered the handouts for the lessons her friend had missed and wrote the date on each sheet. She put them in a blue folder and added a small sheet with the new homework. Then she took a storybook she had borrowed from Salma. She wanted to return it during the visit, so she put it in her bag.
When she arrived, Salma welcomed her in the living room. Mariam gave her the book and the folder and asked, “Would you like us to look at the papers now?” Salma said, “I only want to know the homework, and I will read the rest of the papers later.” Mariam explained the homework with one example, then they talked about stories they liked.
After twenty minutes, Salma said she wanted to rest. Mariam closed the folder and put it on the table beside the sofa, then got ready to leave. Salma thanked her for the papers and the visit. Mariam said, “I will send you news from class tomorrow.” They agreed to stay in touch through messages, then Mariam said goodbye to her friend and left quietly.
