Huda works in an office near her home, from nine in the morning until four in the afternoon. On Sunday morning, she called the dentist’s clinic to book an appointment. She put a calendar and a pen in front of her, then waited a little until the employee answered the phone.
Huda said, “I would like an appointment this week, please.” The employee said, “We have an appointment on Monday at ten in the morning.” Huda looked at the calendar and said, “I am at work at that time. Do you have an appointment after four?”
The employee checked the computer, then said, “Tuesday at five in the evening.” Huda smiled because that time suited her. She said, “I will choose that appointment.” The employee wrote down her name and phone number and asked her to arrive ten minutes before the appointment.
Huda wrote down the day and time, then asked for the clinic’s address. The employee said, “We are beside the public library.” She knew the place well. Before the call ended, she repeated the appointment details to check them and thanked the employee. Then she put the calendar in her bag so that she would remember the appointment.
