My name is Layla. My bedroom is small, and its walls are white. I like my room, but I want a new colour. I say to my older brother, “I like blue.” He says, “Let’s paint this wall light blue.” I smile and agree.
We take the books out of the room and move the bed away from the wall. We put paper on the floor. My brother opens the window. I put on an old shirt, and my brother carries the tin of paint. Everything is ready for work.
I hold a small brush and paint slowly. My brother works beside me. We do not paint the whole room; we paint just one wall. After the work, we wash the brushes and lift the paper off the floor. We leave the wall to dry.
In the evening, the paint is dry. We return the bed to its place and the books to the shelf. I call my mother and father. They come in and look at the wall. My mother says, “The colour is lovely!” I say, “It is the colour of the sky!” I thank my brother for his help.
