Yesterday Sami was late for Arabic class. The lesson starts at eight in the morning, and he usually wakes up at seven. But he read a long story the previous night and forgot to set the alarm. When he opened his eyes, it was quarter past eight.

Sami got up quickly, washed his face and put on his clothes. He took his bag and left home without breakfast. The school was nearby, so he walked there. He arrived at half past eight and knocked quietly on the classroom door. His classmates were writing sentences in their notebooks.

The teacher asked him, “Why are you late today, Sami?” He said, “I am sorry. I was late because I forgot the alarm.” The teacher said, “Come in and sit down. After the lesson, ask your classmate about the first exercise.” Sami sat down and opened his book, then took part in reading the dialogue.

After the lesson, his classmate explained the exercise to him, and Sami wrote the answers. In the evening, he put his books in his bag and set the alarm for seven. He said to himself, “I will sleep early today.” The following morning, he arrived in the classroom before the lesson began.
