Three classmates make cards and bookmarks for a school fair. When a child cannot see their work, they change the display and make their first sale.

A week before the school fair, I agreed with Nadia and Samir to prepare a small stall. We made greeting cards and bookmarks from coloured paper. I wrote the messages, Nadia drew the shapes, and Samir prepared the bags. We met twice after lessons and finished some work at home so the items would be ready on time. We wanted to use the money to buy colouring supplies for our class.
On the morning of the fair, we placed a table near the hall door. A card cost three riyals, and a bookmark cost two. We wrote the prices in large writing, then placed a big sign in front of the table. The stall looked lovely to us, so we stood behind it and waited for visitors.
A child came and said, “I can see the prices, but where are the cards?” We looked from his position and found that the sign was hiding the small items. We lifted it and fixed it to the wall behind us. Then we moved the cards and bookmarks closer to the edge of the table, so visitors could see them more clearly.
The child chose a card and a bookmark and paid five riyals. Samir wrote the amount in a notebook, and Nadia put the items in a bag. After that, each of us sold things and helped the others. At the end of the day, we counted the money with the teacher and chose the colouring supplies we wanted to buy for the class.
